Final Exam:
- At this time North Carolina does require that ALL students take the Math 2 NC Final Exam. There are no exemptions for this exam.
- Homework Policy:
- Homework is vital to learning mathematics.
- I will check your homework to make sure you have made a valid, honest attempt to answer every question. I will not necessarily be looking for it to be perfect or correct every time, but you must complete every problem to be given full credit for the homework.
- Sometimes homework will be collected, sometimes I will check it at your desk during warm-up time.
- I will go over homework and answer any of your questions so that you may correct your work.
- Late homework may or may not be accepted! Please do homework each night after it has been assigned so that you don’t get behind!
ABSENCES/MAKE-UP WORK:
- Absenteeism is especially difficult to overcome.
- The responsibility lies in your hands to obtain assignments and to complete make-up work following an excused absence.
- I will place work you missed and assignments in a MISSED WORK folder in the front of the room with your name on it. You simply go and find it in the folder following an absence.
- Class time can’t be used to catch you up. That’s tough, but that’s the way it is. You can see Mrs. Jessup during her tutoring times at Smart Breakfast almost daily for catching up on missed concepts. Failure to make up missed work will result in a loss of 5 points from the homework average.
TEST CORRECTIONS:
- Every student will be offered the opportunity to make test corrections on every test we take this semester.
- You will be able to earn back half credit on all the problems you missed on the test.
- This is only available on tests only- not quizzes. (The lowest quiz grade will be dropped at the end of the grading period.)
- Students are responsible for coming in during Smart Breakfast or after school to work on problems they missed on a test within 3 days of the test being graded.
- Test Corrections MUST be done in the classroom without assistance from another student. Often class notes can be used to help you with test corrections.
